A Message from the Lord Mayor

Mayor's Welcome

Dr. Mborong Venasius Bongkiyung

Lord Mayor, Kumbo Council

2020 – Present

"We are transforming the Kumbo Council into a 21st-century institution... our goal remains the same: to improve the daily lives of our people."

It is my honour to welcome you to the official website of the Kumbo Council — a platform that reflects our commitment to open, transparent, and accessible governance. Kumbo — the historic seat of the Nso Kingdom — is defined by the strength of its people, the depth of its cultural heritage, and the productivity of its land. Like many communities in our region, we continue to navigate a challenging environment shaped by the prevailing security situation. Yet, the resilience of our citizens and the strength of our partnerships provide a solid foundation for confidence in Kumbo's future. I invite you to explore this platform, engage with our programmes, and contribute constructively to the continued development of Kumbo.

Dr. Mborong holds a Doctorate in Physics and serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Buea.
